JEREMY NICHOLAS is an actor, award-winning broadcaster, writer and musician whose solo performance of Three Men in a Boat enjoyed a successful run in the West End and won him an Olivier Award nomination. His many starring roles on televi-sion include The Good Companions, The Pickwick Papers, Crossroads and Wish Me Luck. In 1996 he won the Sony Radio Gold Award for Best Arts Programme.
The author of four reference books on classical music, biographies of Chopin and Leopold Godowsky, over 130 CD booklets, and a collection of comic songs (Funny You Should Sing That), he is also an authority on pianists and the piano, a regular contributor as critic and feature writer to Gramophone and International Piano magazines. Jeremy has been President of the Jerome K Jerome Society since 1993, and recently retired after 18 years as Director of Music of St Mary’s, Bocking, one of only five archepiscopal peculiars in England, close to where he lives in rural Essex with his first wife and a small dog. |
